OSHA Publishes Chemicals NEP The PSM Covered Chemical Facilities National Emphasis Program [OSHA Directive #09-06 (CPL 02)] was published on July 27, 2009 (http://www.osha.gov/OshDoc/Directive_pdf/CPL_02_09-06.pdf). The directive announces a one-year OSHA NEP for Programmed Inspections of targeted chemical facilities covered by PSM/RMP in Regions I, VII, and X known to OSHA as having a risk of catastrophic releases of HHCs. Facilities having ammonia and/or chlorine are most vulnerable and on OSHA's initial “target list” of facilities to be inspected in this pilot program. View details...

OSHA Announces New Refinery NEP Effective June 7, 2007, the US Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recently announced the Petroleum Refinery Process Safety Management National Emphasis Program (CPL 03-00-004) calling for inspections of all refineries due to several recent incidents.
